Projet de master 2021-3

The Ramifications of Meaning: The Exploration of Arborescence and L’Arbre des Batailles

As part of my master's project with the Rare Book and Digital Humanities program at UBFC, I focused on evaluating the manuscript L'Arbre des Batailles (ca. 1386-9). Specifically, I examined the sources of influence that shaped its creation, drawing from the professional experience of its author, Honorat Bovet. Through this investigation, I aimed to better understand the evolution of arborescence in early-century Western Europe and the reasoning behind the superposition of trees and tree-like forms with higher meaning.

Projects 2023

Conservation and Renovation of The Edwin Way Teale Study

From January to May 2023, I was fortunate to participate in an internship with the Connecticut Audubon Society, which satisfied the prerequisites for my Rare Books and Digital Humanities Master's program. During my internship, I was responsible for organizing, cleaning, and cataloging the books and artifacts of Edwin Way Teale's study, a renowned naturalist writer, located at the Audubon’s property, Trail Wood (Hampton, CT). This task was an essential step in the renovation process of the study to ensure the preservation of the collection. After the renovation, I meticulously returned all books and artifacts to their original location to maintain the authenticity of Mr. Teale's workspace.

Projects 2021

Museum Digital Companion Design

As part of the requirements for the Rare Books and Digital Humanities Master (RBDH 2021-2023), I participated in a two-month internship at the Musée des Beaux-Arts et d’Archeologie de Besançon (MBAA’s ) under the guidance of Madame Virginie FRELIN-CARTIGNY, documententriste, in the documentations department attached to the secteur arts graphiques et conservation. The lion’s share of this internship was spent researching national and international exhibitions to aid in the building of a mock framework for a digital companion that'd accompany an upcoming exhibition on the life’s work of a critical curator in the MBAA’s history, Mlle CORNILLOT, set for the spring of 2023 at the MBAA and the Musée du Temps.

Projet pour la Bibliothèque Sainte-Geneviève

I oversaw the creation of the online exhibition "Voyages Savants" for the Bibliothèque Sainte-Geneviève de Paris as the second-semester class project manager in the Rare Book and Digital Humanities master program. The exhibition, which debuted in 2022, featured an impressive collection of 2,000 documents dating from the 15th to the 20th century, encompassing various regions worldwide, including Canada, Polynesia, Patagonia, and Japan.

Projects 2018-2020

Product Photography

Photographed artisan kitchen appliances for a woodworker's promotional material. Such material included a brochure and booth signs that were displayed at the 2020 craft show hosted in Baltimore, Maryland, sponsored by the American Craft Association.

Homestead Projects

Any step in the direction of establishing a more sustainable lifestyle is, in my eyes, a noble pursuit. Not everyone is prepared for the work and frustration that comes with growing a garden or creating products from scratch. Recently, I had the pleasure of creating two homestead logos for individuals who are looking for a greater roots-down approach to their lives.

Game Design

I was a 3D character modeler for a graduate student's game project. However, before the modeling could begin, plenty of world building was needed! Here is some of the work I did on the project.

ZBrush

The images below demonstrate my ZBrush exploration for the development of original characters, aimed towards generating illustrations and visual reference.

AntU

I had the opportunity to work with a great team on a project called AntU. The task was to design and create an interactive, educational exhibit about the work of Carl and Marian Rettenmeyer. A couple who spent 50 years studying army ants!

My role was to create storyboards and generate ideas for the exhibit, especially when it came to the 'Jungle' portion of the experience. I also wrote the script and generated assets for the pop-up facts seen in the 'Jungle' portion.

Genry

The creation of Genry, a 3D model made using 3DCoat and C4D, of course had a story behind him just like all my other models. However, here you'll see some of the pre-production notes that I created before sculpting!
